Resource efficiency

The forest industry uses natural resources efficiently and sparingly, it also minimises the environmental load of its production and recycles efficiently. The raw materials used by the forest industry are mostly local resources such as wood and water. Processes have been developed in such a way that fewer raw materials produce a greater volume of end products and environmental impact has been reduced.

Finland has an effective recycling system for fibre packaging

Recyclable fibre packaging products manufactured from renewable raw materials are effectively recycled in Finland. The country has, despite its low population density, achieved an excellent rate of recovery and recycling for packaging.
